Amanda Ahrens
Amanda Ahrens is the ESG Data Architect within Enterprise Architecture at Dow in Houston, TX. She joined Dow in 2015 and currently leads data strategy for the rapidly growing area of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), working across Manufacturing, IT, Sustainability, Energy, and other functional and business groups to design the data architecture and to enable efficient and reliable ESG reporting. She also supports use and analysis of various data structures to evaluate emerging business scenarios, to meet customer data needs, among other responsibilities. Amanda partners closely with all Dow teams to translate data architecture and strategy into executable roadmaps for implementation.
Amanda is passionate about STEM education, especially for those in underserved communities. She is on the Advisory Board for the M.S. Analytics Program at Texas A&M University. Her volunteer work includes serving as a programming and data science instructor with Michigan Council of Women in Technology, computer science coordinator for Dow’s Girls in STEM program, and coordinator and lecturer for an introductory data science program for HBCU undergraduates studying physical sciences.
Amanda earned her M.S. in analytics from Texas A&M University in 2021 and her B.S. in mathematics with minors in computer science and educational studies from Michigan State University in 2015.
