Don Leavens, Ph.D., is Senior Vice President and Chief Economist at the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA).
A frequent speaker on the U.S. economic outlook and industrial trends, Dr. Leavens leads NEMA’s Business Intelligence division, which provides economic forecasting, market analysis, and data services for the electrical manufacturing industry. He is widely recognized for his expertise on manufacturing competitiveness, energy demand, and the intersection of industrial and fiscal policy.
Prior to NEMA, Dr. Leavens served in senior policy and research roles with the National Association of Realtors and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and held academic appointments at George Mason University and Virginia Tech. He earned his Ph.D. in economics from George Mason University.
