Gregory Daco
Gregory Daco is Chief Economist at EY, where he leads EY’s global economic research and analysis, providing insights and advice to clients, policymakers and the public on the most pressing economic issues and trends. He conducts frequent briefings for CEOs, corporate boards, trade associations and policymakers. He also acts as an internal advisor to the EY global executive leadership team.
Daco’s distinct approach to macroeconomics makes him a frequent contributor to the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Barron’s and other publications. He is also a regular guest of CNBC, Bloomberg, Yahoo Finance, BBC and NPR.
Prior to joining EY, Daco was Chief US Economist at Oxford Economics where he led a team of high-caliber economists producing forecasts, analysis and research on the U.S. and global economy. He has also held economic roles at IHS Global Insight (now IHS Markit, part of S&P Global), the Economic Affairs Department of the Belgian Embassy in Australia, and the Permanent Representation of Belgium to the United Nations and World Trade Organization in Geneva.
He currently serves as president of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE), and is the recipient of numerous forecasting awards, including the Consensus Economics Forecast Accuracy Award in 2019. A member of the Chief Economists Council at the World Economic Forum, NABE and the American Economic Association, Daco holds a Master of Arts in economics from Boston University and a Master of Science in business management from Université de Louvain in Belgium.
