Kirby is the President & CEO of BMC.

Kirby’s passion is on-demand Computer Directed Manufacturing (CDM) using software to automate every possible portion of the supply chain from the creator to the consumer.

His focus is to create value for the customer by bringing a new supply chain to market that reduces their risk and delivers better products and a better bottom line.  By producing one-off fully customizable garments on-demand the brand/designer has no inventory, no warehousing, and ships direct to consumer.

Kirby dedicated 35 years to revolutionizing the book manufacturing, book supply chain, and book information analysis industries.

Kirby is the past President & CEO of Lightning Source Inc. the world’s largest digital print-on-demand book manufacturer, and a division of Ingram Content Group.

Kirby was the founder and CEO of Royal Book Manufacturing, a company that optimized the computer controlled book manufacturing process for speed, efficiency, and cost.

Kirby served on several boards including BMI (Book Manufacturers Institute), wrote articles for trade journals, published several books, and delivered keynote speeches at industry shows worldwide discussing the future trends in the manufacturing and information analysis industries.

Prior to his business career Kirby represented Canada in multiple World Championships. He was the driver of Canada 1 four-man bobsled and a member of the biathlon, speed and freestyle skiing teams. Mountain biking, cycling, soaring and polo are his current interests. He holds a multi-turbine engine helicopter, glider and fixed wing pilot’s license.

Kirby and his wife live in Tucson Arizona and have four adult sons.
