Sam Murley
As General Manager of Industrial Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategic Partnerships at Microsoft, Sam Murley leads global strategy and execution to transform industrial operations through AI—from edge to cloud. He partners with executive leaders to accelerate strategic objectives through scalable, multi-year transformation programs, aligning AI deployments with each organization’s unique operational excellence goals. Sam also leads a team that consults with some of the world’s most innovative companies to accelerate AI adoption into measurable business outcomes.
Sam brings over two decades of experience across industrial sectors, where he has consistently delivered transformative results. Prior to joining Microsoft, he led PTC’s global Digital Transformation business, where he helped customers achieve double-digit improvements across engineering, manufacturing, service, and supply chain. His leadership ensured that digital investments translated into significant returns, from early proof-of-value pilots to strategic global rollouts.
Earlier in his career, Sam founded and scaled several successful technology startups. He also led major operations and digital transformation initiatives for both the U.S. Department of Defense and the General Electric Company. His work has consistently helped organizations enhance design processes, optimize manufacturing, improve supply chain outcomes, and elevate workforce productivity.
Sam’s approach is grounded in a deep understanding of industrial systems and a passion for innovation. His work aligns with Microsoft’s mission to empower every organization to achieve more through responsible AI and digital transformation.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Clarke University.
