Uyiosa Abusomwan, Ph.D.

Dr. Uyiosa Abusomwan is a Senior Global Technology Manager, Digital Design & Engineering at Eaton Corporation. In this position, he leads corporate strategies facilitating the integration of emerging technologies to enhance engineering efficiency and streamline product lifecycle management. Prior to joining Eaton in 2021, he held over a decade of experience in new technology development, product reliability and lifecycle management, and product digitalization in the energy sector.

Additionally, Dr. Abusomwan is helping train the next generation of engineering leaders as a Professor of Practice at the Center for Engineering Leadership, Rice University. In this role, he curated and instructs graduate coursework on Product Management in Industry 4.0. His experiences position him as an advocate and passionate leader in product development, product lifecycle management, and digital engineering.

He received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Bio-Inspired Robotics/Nanorobotics lab at Carnegie Mellon University.
