Note: This tour was exclusively for members of the Manufacturing Leadership Council.

General Motors is leading with agility and efficiency while driving innovation. The Spring Hill production facility builds both gas-powered and electric vehicles on the same assembly line. Tour participants will see how GM uses edge technology to improve the quality of work for both employees and the company. Learn how automation, robotics, error-proofing, data management and AI/machine learning are being leveraged in the manufacturing process.

This plant tour, which will be followed by a panel discussion on innovation and efficient flexibility, will allow participants to:

  • Learn how production monitoring systems provide real-time tracking and historical trends to enable equipment uptime and overall system effectiveness.

  • Witness how a battery pack is loaded with cells and โ€œmarriedโ€ to a vehicle underbody.
